Los Angeles police opened a death investigation after a shocking discovery in Hollywood. A body found in Tesla registered to singer D4vd forced officers to a tow yard near Mansfield Avenue on Monday. Employees reported a strong odor coming from the vehicle, which had sat abandoned in the neighborhood for two days before towing.
Officers unlocked the Tesla and discovered a decomposing body inside a bag in the front trunk. Detectives said the remains belonged to a woman. She had wavy black hair, stood about 5 feet 2 inches tall, and weighed roughly 71 pounds. Police noted she wore a tube top, black leggings, a yellow bracelet, and stud earrings. A tattoo on her right index finger read “Shhh…”.
The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner will confirm her identity and determine the cause of death. Investigators believe she died some time before crews impounded the car.
Records show the Tesla belongs to D4vd, a 20-year-old singer known for hits like Here With Me and Romantic Homicide. He enjoys more than 33 million monthly Spotify listeners, released his debut album in April, and is touring globally. He is scheduled to perform in Los Angeles on September 20.
Detectives said they have not tied D4vd directly to the case. Still, they plan to question him as the vehicle’s registered owner. They also intend to interview anyone else linked to the Tesla. The singer’s representatives have not issued a statement.
The case has attracted worldwide attention because of the artist’s rising fame. Authorities urged patience, explaining that forensic testing and the autopsy will provide critical answers.
On Tuesday, police found another body inside a car in South Los Angeles. They said no evidence connects that case to the body found in Tesla registered to singer D4vd.
Officials expect to release more details once the medical examiner finishes the examination. For now, the grim discovery keeps focus on a young musician whose career has collided with a criminal investigation.
