“Wicked: For Good” Final Trailer Released

Fans of the hit musical have reason to celebrate as Wicked: For Good releases its final trailer ahead of the film’s November 21 theater debut. The sequel continues the story of Elphaba and Glinda, exploring their friendship as they embrace their roles as the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good Witch of the North. Additionally, the trailer gives fans a brief look at Dorothy, the Tin Man, the Scarecrow, and the Cowardly Lion.

Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande return as Elphaba Throp and Glinda Upland, respectively. Meanwhile, Jonathan Bailey reprises his role as Prince Fiyero, and Michelle Yeoh returns as Madame Morrible. Marissa Bode, Ethan Slater, Bowen Yang, and Bronwyn James also appear as Nessarose Thropp, Boq Woodsman, Pfannee, and ShenShen. Jon M. Chu directs the film again, while Winnie Holzman and Dana Fox write both screenplays.

The first Wicked film earned $756 million worldwide, making it the highest-grossing Broadway adaptation ever. It also received ten Academy Award nominations, including best picture, lead actress for Erivo, supporting actress for Grande, costume design, and production design. Notably, the film won for costume design, making Paul Tazwell the first Black man to earn the award.
