Two Powerball Tickets Worth $600,000 Sold in California

November 16, 2025

Two California lottery players are holding tickets worth more than $600,000 each after Saturday night’s Powerball drawing. While no one matched all six numbers to win the growing jackpot, the two winning tickets sold in the state have created new mid-level millionaires ahead of next week’s draw.

Where the Winning Tickets Were Sold

According to the California Lottery, both tickets matched five numbers, missing only the Powerball. Each ticket is worth $609,497. One was purchased at a Rotten Robbie convenience store in San Jose, while the other was sold at One Stop Liquor in Pacheco. Both retailers will also receive bonuses from the state lottery for selling high-tier winning tickets.

Winning Numbers for the November 15 Drawing

The Nov. 15 Powerball drawing was held for a jackpot of $546 million. The winning numbers were:

6, 7, 12, 47, 53
Powerball: 21

No ticket matched all six numbers, allowing the jackpot to grow once again. The next drawing on Monday, November 17, will offer an estimated prize of at least $570 million.

What Jackpot Winners Actually Take Home

Although a $570 million jackpot sparks dreams across the country, the final amount winners receive depends heavily on tax decisions and payout choices. Lottery winners must account for federal taxes, and in some states, additional state taxes apply. California, however, does not tax lottery winnings, giving local winners an advantage.

Winners may choose between a lump-sum cash payout or an annuity option. The annuity provides one immediate payment followed by 29 annual installments. Powerball and Mega Millions follow similar payout structures.

The Growing Excitement Ahead of the Next Draw

With the jackpot rising and millions of tickets expected to be sold before Monday night, anticipation continues to build. The California Lottery emphasizes responsible play, reminding participants that even non-jackpot prizes, like Saturday’s $600,000 wins, can be life-changing.

The next Powerball drawing will be held at 8 p.m. PT on Monday, offering another chance for players across the country to claim the massive prize.
